Things to do with the kids or the young at heart

There is so much to do in Galway for the family in rain, hail or sunshine. On those beautiful sunny days when Galway looks its best spend a day on one of our many beautiful beaches, visit Turoe Pet Farm a 20 minute drive, walk the medieval streets or take a cruise on the Corrib Priness or learn to sail with Bowwaves.  On the days when the weather isn't so great you will still have a great choice of activities; visit the Galway Atlantaquaria, the national aquarium in Salthill , show your skills at Pureskill a 25, 000 sq ft indoor sports and leisure destination in nearby Knocknacarra or catch a movie in one of the local cinemas. Watch some Greyhound racing, take to the track at Galway City Karting in their 20,000 SQ ft indoor track. Sports in Galway
We offer special packages for sporting groups of all kinds and are experienced in catering for pre and post meals for teams. We are of the nearest hotels to Terryland Park and within walking distance of the Sportsground, the home of Connacht rugby. The local rugby teams of Galwegians and Corinthians are also within easy driving. As with the rest of the country, GAA , both hurling and Gaelic football is a passion in Galway and we would highly recommend watching a match in Pearce stadium if you have the opportunity when in Galway.

Oughterard Golf Club

For those runners amongst us there is loads to choose from; this is only a selection of what is available during various times of the year. The Connemara international marathon, fills up quick, so early registration is recommended, the same for the Connemara adventure challenge or if you have 30 hours and can run 100 then the Connemara 100 is another.
