Civil Ceremonies & Partnerships

The Menlo Park Hotel is the ideal venue to host your civil ceremony or blessing in Galway city. We are a HSE approved venue for civil ceremonies. We understand how important your wedding is and we are there throughout your whole wedding day to make it very special for you. Our dedicated wedding team have organised numerous civil ceremonies and blessings, and are happy to advise you on both options. We can sit from 10 - 200 guests for a ceremony in a choice of private rooms. All ceremonies are catered to your requirements and include traditional red carpet aisle, altar and chair covers aswell as romantic mood lighting, lanterns and your choice of background music.

The Menlo Park Hotel offers complimentary room hire when you also host your wedding reception in the hotel.

Traditionally most weddings were held in churches, today many couples do not want a religious service and would prefer to personalise their wedding blessing. For these couples a Humanist wedding offers an ideal solution. Humanist weddings can be held anywhere, indoors or out in the open. The ceremony can be held any day of the week and at any time. Humanist weddings carry legal status in Ireland.  www.marrymeireland.ie is a good source of information for celebrants.

For couples wishing to have a Civil Partnership in the Republic of Ireland you must first make an appointment to give Notification of Intention to marry to a Registrar. You must give at least 3 months notification to a Registrar in person and this is done by appointment only. It is advisable that once you have your wedding date booked that you make an appointment with a Registrar as soon as possible to ensure availability. To do this couples should contact your local Civil Registration Office or Health Service Executive (HSE) headquarters
