The award-winning Menlo Park Hotel is a four-star, family owned hotel in Galway City. We're located just 1.2km from Eyre Square, right beside the Wild Atlantic Way and close to the N6. That makes us an ideal base whether you're exploring Galway and the surrounding area, travelling for business, or visiting NUIG or University Hospital Galway.
The hotel was opened by Paddy Francis and his son John on the 12th of June 1998. It was built on land the family had lived on for generations, and that history runs through the building today. Many of our conference suites are named after local characters connected to the area. The hotel remains at the heart of the local community, and our guests, whether visiting from home or abroad, regularly mingle with local clientele in our busy P. Francis & Son Bar and Bistro.
Over the years, the hotel has grown to 81 bedrooms through continuous investment. Our most recent renovation, completed in early 2024, introduced our new Signature bedrooms. We're currently expanding further, with 11 additional bedrooms due to open in early 2026, alongside upgrades to our bar and conference facilities.

Dining at P. Francis & Son
Our bar and bistro is a genuine local favourite, not just a hotel restaurant. Drop in for breakfast, a relaxed lunch, or dinner in the evening, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We also cater for gluten-free and coeliac guests, with a dedicated menu available on request.
